Edit Client Information
Learn how to update existing client records in Zettabit.
Accessing Client Edit
There are two ways to edit a client:
From the Client List
- Go to Clients
- Find the client you want to edit
- Click the Edit button (pencil icon) in the actions column
From Client Details
- Go to Clients
- Click on a client’s name to view their details
- Click the Edit button on the details page
Editable Fields
You can modify the following information:
Basic Information
- Name - Update if the customer’s name changes
- Phone - Update contact number
- Email - Update email address
- Address - Update physical address
Connection Details
- PPPoE Username - Change the authentication username
- PPPoE Password - Change the authentication password
- Server - Move client to a different MikroTik router
Fields You Cannot Edit
- Client ID - This is fixed after creation for data integrity
- Created Date - System-generated timestamp
Changing PPPoE Credentials
When you change a client’s PPPoE credentials:
- The change is saved in Zettabit immediately
- If the client has an active subscription, the new credentials are synced to the MikroTik router
- The client will need to update their router settings with the new credentials
Important Considerations
- Coordinate with the client before changing credentials
- The client will be disconnected until they update their router
- Consider scheduling changes during off-peak hours
Moving a Client to a Different Server
If you need to move a client to a different MikroTik router:
- Edit the client and select the new server
- Save the changes
- If the client has an active subscription, it will be recreated on the new server
- The client may experience a brief disconnection
When to Move Clients
- Load balancing across servers
- Server maintenance or replacement
- Client relocated to different coverage area
Saving Changes
After making your changes, click Save to update the client record.
Audit Trail
All changes to client records are logged in the audit trail. You can view the history of changes in the Audit Logs.
Troubleshooting
”Unable to update client”
- Check your internet connection
- Verify you have the necessary permissions (client:update)
- Try refreshing the page and attempting again
”PPPoE Username already in use”
The new username you chose is already assigned to another client. Choose a different username.
